How to Choose CrossFit Gloves?
When it comes to choosing a good pair of CrossFit gloves there are a few things to keep in mind.
You want to pick a pair that offers great protection because after all, that is the point of the glove. You want to protect your palm from blisters and rips. You also want a glove that offers good wrist protection because you don't want to hurt yourself lifting heavy weight.
Picking a comfortable pair is a must. What good is a protective glove if it is uncomfortable to wear. You'll most likely get tired of wearing the gloves if they're uncomfortable and end up injuring yourself.
No one likes wasting money so you should pick a pair that'll last. There are many low-quality gloves out there that rip too easily. Ignore the ones that are poorly made or you'll be wasting money on a new pair every month.
The grip is really important when it comes to picking a good glove. A glove that provides superior grip will help you lift more weight resulting in a better workout.
A good pair of gloves will fit your hand without being too tight or loose. A good fit helps comfort and will aid you during your workout.
Picking a nice looking pair is important for many. Finding a stylish, well-designed pair of gloves that come in different colors is an added plus. Being proud of your gloves mean you'll wear them more and benefit.
The JerkFit WODies is a really popular pair of CrossFit gloves but they aren't perfect. People complain of them being pricey, slippery, retaining sweat, and they really dislike the customer service, specifically the return policy.
Apparently, the gloves offer customizable finger width but if you choose to customize the finger slots (ripping them) for a better fit you can't return the gloves. Seems unfair, we know.
On the plus side, this glove offers tremendous palm and wrist protection. They are comfortable, easy to clean, durable, have many colors to choose from and are easy to put on and take off. Coming in many colors makes them stylish as well.
We feel like the quality of this glove and the protection it offers makes it a great choice. However, we'd like to see the grip and refund policy improved.
Up next we have Fit Active's weight lifting gloves.
Many complain about the sizing of these gloves and have a tough time picking the right size. More issues include thick straps which make you sweat more, a lack of comfort, poor grip, and easily falling apart.
However they offer an open design which provides good ventilation. They are also flexible and customer service is good.
We can't recommend this glove because it doesn't provide the protection and grip needed for CrossFit. On top of that, they don't last...
Up next is ProFitness's cross training gloves.
There are a few cons to this product. Mainly, poor quality meaning they fall apart easily, they're tight, smell like glue and the thin material doesn't offer much palm protection.
However, we do like the grip and wrist support these gloves provide. The customer service is also top notch and the gloves come in many colors.
We like this glove but the quality and palm protection needs to be improved before we'd recommend them.
The SEEU weight lifting gloves are another popular pick with some downfalls. For one the fit was awkward for many. Also, not much padding means poor protection and unfortunately they tear easily.
On the plus side, they're made from good material, are stretchy, comfortable and come in several colors.
Overall decent glove, we'd like to see more protection and better stitching though.
The RIMSports gym gloves are up next. This glove smells like plastic and has a bad fit. They are thick and rigid and stained the palms of many. Also, the velcro is too long and uncomfortable. On top of that, they are made from cheap material.
On the upside, the company offers outstanding customer service. The gloves themselves are breathable and offer good grip. They are lightweight and come in many vibrant colors.
We didn't like the fact these gloves bleed and stained people's palms. Customer service is terrific though and we'd love to see them improve this gloves overall quality.
Crossfit is a demanding activity and having a good pair of gloves is important for protection.
Unfortunately, finding a pair that offers the right mixture of protection, grip, comfort, durability, fit and style is a tough job.
We've done the hard work and find the JerkFit WODies to be the best glove available today.
